Thailand

Two of the most unique markets in the world.

Maeklong Railway Market The "life-risking" market is called that because the stalls are set up right next to the train tracks, and when a train comes through, the vendors have to quickly clear the goods and close their umbrellas. It's a crazy sight to see.

The market is located in Samut Songkhram. Vendors set up their parasols and canvas to shield themselves from the sun. When the train signals its arrival, chaos ensues as the vendors quickly clear the tracks and fold up their parasols. Once the train passes through, they reopen their stalls and start selling again!

Floating market, Thailand

Damnoensaduak Floating Market was an incredible experience for us to visit in Bangkok. The lively atmosphere and shopping from vendors on boats offered a unique glimpse into the vibrant culture of Thailand. We enjoyed trying fresh food and shopping for local goods, and the kids even had the opportunity to hold snakes and lemurs, which was a memorable experience. The floating markets are definitely a family-friendly attraction that we highly recommend visiting when in Bangkok.
